The friction of moving data
Moving information between devices is often unnecessarily complicated. Whether you are trying to get a photo from your phone to a laptop, or send a quick block of text to a colleague's workstation, the options are rarely straightforward.
People constantly resort to awkward workarounds: emailing files to themselves, sending messages to their own numbers, hunting for USB drives, or logging into heavy cloud storage platforms. Each of these methods involves unnecessary steps, from installing specialized software to creating accounts or managing passwords.
A simpler alternative
Sendz was built to provide a simpler, browser-based alternative for temporary file and text transfer. We wanted a tool that prioritized minimal friction and immediate accessibility.
The original idea was inspired by a universal frustration: a professional needing to quickly transfer a document to a restricted workstation, where USB drives are blocked and logging into a personal cloud account feels insecure. We realized this kind of cross-device transfer problem exists everywhere—in corporate offices, co-working spaces, and across operating systems that simply don't communicate easily with one another.
Core principles
Instead of building another complex cloud storage platform, we focused Sendz strictly on the act of transferring.
- Browser-based access: There is no software or mobile app to install. Sendz works natively in the web browsers you already use.
- Cross-device transfer: By relying on a simple 6-digit code, Sendz acts as a universal bridge, connecting a phone to a computer, a Mac to a PC, or an iOS device to Windows.
- Temporary sharing: Sendz is not an archive. Every file uploaded and every text snippet shared becomes inaccessible exactly 12 hours after creation, and is permanently deleted by automated systems shortly after, keeping the service clean and your data temporary.
- Minimal friction: We don't ask you to log in, create an account, or surrender an email address just to move a file.
